About two month have passed since Futaki skin care clinic started in the new building.
We had the final debriefing session of construction when Dr. Futaki settled into a rhythm of usual day.
They have worked here since September, so we could listen to impression of the building and some new requests.
We are glad to hear that the clinic is running smoothly.

Though a lot of patient visited there in the first day morning, the clinic could start attending without any problem. Dr.Futaki who couldn't sleep the previous day because of the preparation seemed to be relieved.

Hand over examination

A lest of the construction of interior has finished, we examined for handing it over. About the completed building, we checked again about three basis items, whether there is any black spot and any functional problem, and its workmanship.　

Futaki Skin Care Clinic starts diagnosis at the new clinic on 1st of September. From this sunday, all of staff had started carrying their things into the new clinic and rearranged.　

The day when the new clinic starts is coming soon.

Select of plants

In front of the entrance of the clinic, we are going to plant two of symbolical trees that associated with the name of Dr."Futaki (two trees). Mrs. Futaki and I went to a gardener in Akitsu, and we looked real tree then chose them. Finally we selected two dogwoods one of them are red flower and another one are white.

Inspection for permission of set up the clinic

The building passed off the inspection of finishing by Tama building guidance section and also had inspection for getting a permission of set up the clinic by healthcare center today. In this inspection, they check whether the consultation room has been took the position that was as planned, or whether there are some outlet for medical use. It also passed off without point out any mistakes. At the construction site, there are still being constructed of lest and exterior. The schedule when the clinic move into the new one is 1st of September.

Each finishing

After the each finishing construction of the interior, the installation of lighting, air conditioning and electrical apparatus is also completed, it is nearly completed.　

This time there are two clinic rooms, usual one and the other one is able to have laser treatment. These are little bit different to use, we planed the interior are different.　This is the room formed the keynote of white color regarded cleanliness (the top picture). To the patients are able to relax, the room use for laser treatment is taking frost glass to take in the soft light (the bottom picture).

The construction has been going well, we are scheduling a inspection of finishing on 27th.

Facade

Dismantling of the scaffolding has finished, the building showed off the shape. It is easy to find from far away, it's because of the facade with white-plastered wall and galvanized steel iron, it is also serve for the sign of the clinic. Mr. futaki is satisfied with its' finish matched as his images.　 The construction of the exterior is going to move the next action.

Finishing

For the exterior, plaster work of the wall has completed. Before the scaffolding was taken off, we did a final check about the condition of the plaster work and whether constructor got a task right such as cauking around the sash. The result was well, the finishing was as our images.

In the next week, the scaffolding will be dismantled as the plan. The interior construction is also becoming finish.　Finish to cover the walls and the ceiling of the house with wallpaper, plaster work will be gin of interior wall of consultation room from now on.

Built-in furniture

We designed most furniture such as documents and medicines shelf, sink cabinets of a consulting room to convenience and fit size. Built-in furniture has been nearly completed, we are going to start coating with paint after this.

The construction is advancing for hand over of the end of July smoothly.

A storage utilize the stairs

Dr.futaki has a lot of books related to medical treatment and collected his hobby. Therefore we devised the stairs which connects to the loft. We use dead space to have some shelf, as we extend the steps of the stairs to the wall.

Exterior wall construction

Galvanized steel iron set up construction of the exterior wall has finished. As for the part of the external corner, there is a method that hold down a steel plate by using a ready-made metal. But the ready-made metal is too wide to use for this building of longitudinally-extending, so we made the 10mm narrow downed parts. An impression is quite different in even only 10 millimeters.

Regular meeting, site confirmation

We inform the owner, Dr. Futaki & his wife of supervision of construction work of last month, and let them confirm the progress of the current construction once every month.

After the meeting, Dr. Futaki and we confirm the site. The photograph is a sky light of a washroom in the second floor. It seems to become open bright space.

Indoor wiring work

A lath base was set in the outside and showed outline.

The inside began indoor wiring work and plumbing, air conditioning. An air-conditioner to bury in a ceiling installs it by this process.
It is in a corner lot and surrounded by three roads, so we make consideration that plumbing do not appear in a part becoming a face of a building.

Fit up sash

Sash install construction has started. We reconfirmed whether the opening as planed was not coincide with neighbors' windows at the scene. According to plan, there were not any problems.

This is the balcony at the second floor. Even in this season, there had a brilliant sunshine so it was used as a resting place for the carpenters. It might be becoming a comfortable space.

Completion of framework

The second floor part of this building consists of two buildings that sandwiched a courtyard. In other words, it is a workload to be able to call completion of framework of two houses, so the worker worked together for the framework-rising ceremony of the evening from 7:00 a.m. In the twilight, the ceremony held without accident.

Naorai(A feast after the ceremony)

Dr. Futaki and his wife talked to us about appreciation to the worker and their thought for this new home. The carpenters, workers, constructor and we gave them a present of message written in a piece of wood that was in the construction site. They were pleased very much with it that become in commemoration of the ceremony.

The layout of reinforcement inspection

We checked whether metal such as reinforcing rods or an anchor bolts has been placed as planed.　After a fine adjustment, the constructor cast concretes into there. It is fine today as temperature rises to 18 degrees in the daytime, it is like April climate. But the weather forecast says tomorrow will be rain. Because of casting concrete can't be done in the rain, it will be postponed until the following day to be safe.

Casting of the levelling concrete

As excavation and Harden the ground has completed, the levelling concrete was cast to the ground. Construction is being carried out smoothly for completion of framework at the beginning of March.

Checking the Rope to set up the building position

The rope was set up along building line. We confirm dimensions of the interval between the rope and property line and road border, and a position of a building. When build constructions from now on, it becomes an important point of judging whether there is or not a problem.

Ceremony for sanctifying ground

With attendance of the Futaki family, his clinic's staff, the constructor and us, the ceremony was held by Suwa shrine and prayed for safety completion of the building.　

Finally, the construction will start.

The demolition work

The demolition work that began on January 10 is going to complete for more few days. Pursuant to "Construction Material Recycling Act", they separate aluminum and plastic materials.

The temporary clinic

The clinic was inspected by healthcare center in last December and opened temporarily the clinic on January 6. Dr. Futaki had been opened his clinic at this place before moving to the dismantling one, and it is a good old place to patients from old days.

Rice cake making party

We had been asking for the estimate from several constructors in October, as a result of adjustment and discussion, we decide to contract with Aiba-kensetsu which is in Higashimurayama-city, December 26th.

Dr. Futaki and his wife who are the client and I joined in annual rice cake making party of Aiba-kensestsu, on December 29th. (the picture on the right : From left, Sato managing director of Aiba -kenestsu, Mrs.Futaki)

We were treated like a pig roasted whole,　a hot guts meet pod and steamed rice and more. A rice cake just made is different from a rice cake on public sale and there is elasticity, lengthens and is delicious at all.　

Staff of Aiba-kensetsu made rice cake all the time from morning to the night and seems to have steamed almost 200 liters of glutinous rice. The old and new clients and construction workers visited continuously, it was prosperous.

After two years of the design, the construction will start finally from the next year. At first they begin with dismantling construction of an existing clinic.
